After three months of an artist residency supported by FLAD, the film emerges from a stay at a laboratory in New York where the practice of working with celluloid endures.
The film explores nostalgia through the relationship between different technologies. A computer-generated voice reproduces the performativity and nostalgia of a discourse about 16 mm film, speaking of a technology that existed before its own creation.
Nostalgia can only exist through a relationship of distance between past and present. A nostalgic image is, in this sense, a double exposure, as the author Svetlana Boym suggests: the moment we try to condense these two times into a single image, it becomes like an overexposed photograph.
