16 mm film transferred to digital, transferred to 16 mm film
Color, optical sound, 6’45”, loop
4:3, aluminum sheet

Filmed in a film laboratory where celluloid practice endures. The narration reveals the process of manufacturing 16mm film, echoing an introductory speech repeated in every class in this place, now revived and read by an AI-cloned voice attempting to reproduce the performativity and nostalgia of the original discourse. The voice-over speaks of something that predates its own existence, coexisting between an obsolete technology and a technology on the rise.

Voice: ElevenLabs (Joana Lourenço’s voice cloned)
